Care and Maintance

  • Avoid contact with citric and other natural acids.
  • After you are finished using the sink, rinse out whatever soap is left behind. If you live in an area where the mineral content in the water is high, its good idea to wipe out the sink after you rinse it. Wipe the entire surface dry with a clean, soft cloth after each use.
  • Clean your sink with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Do not use cleaners which contain acids, harsh chemicals, or abrasives. Do not scrub or polish the sink.

Your copper sink actually does most of the cleaning work by itself. Copper is naturally antibacterial.

Stainless Steel Basins: Clean sink weekly with mild soap and water. Wipe the entire surface dry with a dry, clean, soft, cloth after each use. Do not use cleaners which contains acids, harsh chemicals, or abrasives. Use a steel wool pad to remove minor scratches, running with the grain in one direction only. Avoid prolonged contact with heavy salt concentration.

Brass Basins: Clean sink with mild brass cleaner and a soft, clean cloth. Wipe the entire surface dry with a dry, clean, soft cloth after each use. Do not use cleaners which contain acids, harsh chemicals, or abrasives.

Drains and Basket Strainers: Clean drain or strainer with mild soap and water. Do not use cleaners which contains acids, harsh chemicals, and abrasives. Do not use heavy duty liquid drain "snake" cleaners with Special Finishes* drains and strainers.

Kitchen Faucets: Clean faucet with mild soap and water. Wipe the entire surface dry with a dry, clean, soft cloth after each use. Do not use cleaners which contains acids, harsh chemicals, or abrasives. Gently polish living finishes regularly with faucet wax. Non-living finishes may be maintained with decorative bath fixture cleaner and polish

Fireclay Sinks: Clean your Fireclay sink with mild soap and warm water or a gentle general purpose cleaner. Wipe the entire surface dry with a clean, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or metallic wire sponges. To avoid potential stains or damage to the finish avoid soaking dishes for abnormally long periods of time and refrain from leaving grounds or tea bags in the sink. Whitehaus Collection recommends the use of protective grid in the bottom of the sink to avoid scuffing from heavy-duty cookware. If scuffing does occur, it can be easily buffed out with Gel Gloss, and a clean, soft, dry cloth

Bath Faucets: Clean faucet with mild soap and water. Wipe the entire surface dry with a dry, clean soft cloth after each use. Do not use cleaners which contains acid, harsh chemicals, or abrasives. Gently polish living finishes regularly with a faucet wax. Non-living finishes may be maintained with decorative bath fixture cleaner and polish.

Noah Plus Collection: For everyday cleaning maintenance use mild soap and water for your noah plus stainless steel sink. (For best results remove sink grid for more precise cleaning of the entire sink surface).

Place sink grid carefully back inside bowl after properly cleaning.

  • Rinse and dry entire surface with a dry, clean, soft cloth after each use.
  • Do not use cleaners which contain acids, harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  • Avoid dropping heavy objects such as pots or pans into the sink. Keep clear from sharp utensils or metal brushes which can scratch the surface.
  • Avoid contact with acidic cleaners or other chemicals such as tomato residue, salty liquids, milk or coffee on the sink surface for a long period of time.
  • If steel has a sheen from oil, wash with warm water and vinegar (10-15%), then rinse thoroughly and dry.

China Sinks: Clean sink with mild soap and water. Wipe the entire surface dry with a dry, clean, soft cloth. If the sink gets dirty, it can be cleaned with any general purpose cleaner. Use a gentle fiberglass, marble, and acrylic one-step polish to remove scuffs.

Soap and Lotion Dispensers: Always wipe soap and lotion dispensers clean with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Do not use an abrasive cleaner. If blemishes begin to show on the finish, use a window cleaner with a soft cloth but this should not be done on an everyday basis.

Bathroom Drains: Clean drain with mild soap and water. Do not use cleaners which contain acids, harsh chemicals, and abrasives. Do not use heavy-duty liquid drain "snake" cleaners with specialty finish drains and strainers.
